Myanmar play against minnows Philippines in the
Group A match of the Asean Football Federation (AFF)
at the Army Stadium in Bangkok on 16th Jan.
Myanmar need to beat the minnows by at least a
four-goal margin to quality for the semi-finals and
coach U Sann Win said that they could not expect the
Philippines to hand them victory on the platter.
He added that it was unfortunate that they were
unable to make the task to advance easier with a
victory over Malaysia on Sunday.
"We played an attacking game
(against Malaysia) but could not score. We had so
many opportunities, especially in the second half
and were unlucky not to get the goals," Sann Win
told the tournament website,
www.aseanfootball.org
.
"Now we have to prepare for a tough match against
the Philippines. We must try hard to chalk up a big
win."
Skipper Zaw Lynn Tun said: "We wanted all three
points against Malaysia (to put us in a good
position to qualify). We were unlucky to draw the
match. We now have to go all out against the
Philippines.
